Shanklin South’s Isle of Wight councillor Chris Quirk is seeking a third term after nine years in the role, as five candidates contest the seat ahead of the May 7 elections.
The Conservative incumbent is facing challenges from Wendy Cooper (Green Party), Billy Hill (Independent), David Llewellyn (Reform UK) and Christopher Lloyd (Labour).
Green candidate Wendy Cooper says she wants to improve transport links and work collaboratively to boost quality of life and protect the environment.
Independent Billy Hill says he will prioritise local residents over party politics, with a focus on key projects like coastal defences and the Bay Place Plan.
Reform UK’s David Llewellyn says he wants to represent residents fairly, improve value for money and support a stronger local community.
Labour candidate Christopher Lloyd says he will push for better transport, fairer funding and affordable housing across the Bay area.
Chris Quirk says he has delivered for the town, highlighting work on Shanklin Theatre and coastal defences, and wants to continue supporting the community.
