There are just days left to sign up for Walk the Wight 2026 and have your walker pack delivered ahead of the big day.
The much-loved annual event, organised by Mountbatten Isle of Wight and sponsored by the Isle of Wight Festival and Red Funnel, takes place on Sunday, 10 May.
Anyone wanting their walker number, event guide, T-shirt and any extra merchandise posted to them must register by 12pm on Thursday, 16 April.
Extras available include Walk the Wight caps (£15), Mountbatten socks (£7.50), reusable water bottles (£12) and dog bandanas (£5).
Ashleigh Gibbs, from Mountbatten Isle of Wight, said the event is for everyone.
“Whether you walk on your own or with kids, grandparents or friends, Walk the Wight is a great excuse to get out, get moving and enjoy the beautiful Isle of Wight together.
“Being part of the atmosphere on the day is incredible. It really captures the community spirit, while raising vital funds for our local hospice.”
Walk the Wight sees thousands of people take part each year to support Mountbatten’s specialist 24/7 care.
There are several route options to suit all abilities, including the full 26 miles, two half routes of around 13 miles, the accessible eight-mile Flat Walk, and the four-mile Schools Walk.
All offer the chance to enjoy some of the Island’s most scenic views.
Registration costs £15 per person and includes entry, a walker pack, commemorative medal at the finish, entertainment along the route and free bus travel on the day.
Those who raise more than £500 will also be invited to a special top fundraiser event.
A wide range of food traders will be positioned along the route.
Anyone signing up after 6pm on Thursday, 16 April can still take part, but will need to collect their walker pack from Mountbatten Collection HQ on Saturday, 9 May, or from their chosen start line on the day, where queues are expected.
Walk the Wight was established in 1991 by Bill Bradley and Frank Stevens and now raises more than £500,000 each year for the Island’s hospice.
Mountbatten Isle of Wight provides care and support to around 2,500 people every day, supporting those facing death, dying and bereavement, as well as their families.
Around 85 per cent of that care is delivered in people’s homes across the Island.
