The Island’s young stars were celebrated at Tapnell Farm on Friday night (September 5) as the Isle of Wight Radio Child of Wight Awards 2025, sponsored by WightFibre, returned for another emotional and inspiring evening.
Now in its 10th year with headline sponsors WightFibre, the awards once again shone a spotlight on the Island’s bravest, most talented and selfless young people.
This year's Overall Child of Wight 2025 winner was Ffion Harrison (below), who has faced years of serious health challenges and two kidney transplants with courage, humour and positivity.

Ffion’s story touched every heart in the room.
Despite enduring long hospital stays, countless treatments, and the life-changing reality of two kidney transplants, she has faced it all with resilience far beyond her years.
Her determination to keep smiling, stay positive, and support those around her has made her a true inspiration to family, friends and everyone who has met her.
Judges praised not only her bravery, but also the way she continues to lift others up even during her toughest times.
On stage, Ffion received a standing ovation as the audience celebrated her strength and spirit.
Hosts Paul Topping and Emily Wells described her as “the embodiment of what the Child of Wight Awards are all about” – showing how courage, kindness and hope can shine through, even in the face of incredible adversity.
