The Isle of Wight’s amateur theatre scene was celebrated at the 2026 Isle of Wight Amateur Theatre Awards, held at Northwood House earlier this month.

The event recognised the best productions from 2025, with judges attending more than 40 performances across the Island, including plays, musicals and pantomimes.

Top honours on the night included Best Play for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Apollo Players, Best Musical for Annie by Island Savoyards, and Best Pantomime for Cinderella by Amy White Theatre.

Acting awards went to Emily Scotcher for her role in Coriolanus, Enid Rees for We Will Rock You, and George Sales for Sinbad Saves the Day.

Two special awards were also presented. The Raymond Allen Award, supported by a video message from Michael Crawford, was given to John Woodford for his long-standing contribution to musical theatre and pantomime.

The John Hannam Award, recognising dedication to Island theatre, was awarded to Libby Pike.

Organisers thanked those involved in staging the event, as well as local theatre groups for their continued support.
