An Isle of Wight grunge rock band are preparing to release their debut single today (Friday).

Four-piece Thesis have launched their first track, Red Sea, on all major streaming platforms.

The band say the single blends the raw sound of 1990s grunge with the intensity of modern metal, introducing their gritty style and atmospheric songwriting.

Red Sea was mixed locally at Skinny Mammoth Studios and draws inspiration from the Island itself, with references to water and the surrounding sea running throughout the track.

Vocalist George Dollery said the idea for the song came unexpectedly while he was struggling for lyrical inspiration.

He said:

“The inspiration behind Red Sea came to me when I was at my most uninspired lyrically.
"I started writing it with no direction, but the idea actually came from watching Jaws for the first time.”

To mark the release, Thesis will play a series of live shows across the Island and will host a special launch event at Triple A Records in Newport.

Red Sea is now available to stream.
