The popular Going Electric show returns for its fourth edition on Sunday, August 31, taking
place on Newport Quayside from 10am to 4pm.
The event will showcase a wide range of local businesses, including the Island’s car dealerships, solar panel and heat pump installers, and other companies in the energy efficiency sector. Visitors can also enjoy a line-up of expert speakers who are leading the way in sustainability and low-carbon innovation.
This year’s programme features three themed talk sessions:
EV Insight – Louis Vannasche, General Manager of Leslies Motors; Motability expert Dan Hillier-Mears from Premier Motors; and Anthony Molley, who leads nationwide fleet electrification for Co-op supermarkets, will discuss the latest developments in electric vehicles.
Future Homes – Laura Stichbury from the fuel poverty charity The Footprint Trust; eco-architect and renovation specialist Alistair Barr; and energy and retrofit advisor Stephen Cockett will explore how we can make our homes greener, more efficient, and future-ready.
The Big Picture – Fran Collins, CEO of Red Funnel; climate change and sustainability education expert Dr Andrew Lee; and Tristan Harris from the community group Together for Mission Zero will look at broader challenges and opportunities in building a sustainable future.
The three hour-long sessions will be held at the Riverside Centre from 11am to 3pm, with two half-hour breaks between talks.
Entry to the show is free, and visitors can also take advantage of free parking at the Riverside, County Hall, and Seaclose car parks.
