Fire Crews Called To Bathroom Blaze In Ventnor Flat

Firefighters from Shanklin and Ryde were called to a flat fire on Victoria Street, Ventnor, at around 6.30pm yesterday evening (Thursday).

The fire was found to have started in a bin inside the bathroom of the property.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews entered the flat and extinguished the fire using hose reel jets.

One person was treated by ambulance paramedics for smoke inhalation at the scene.

Ventilation fans were then used to clear smoke from the flat before crews from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service left the scene at around 8pm.
