Some of the Isle of Wight’s most promising new artists are set to perform in the final of Wight Noize 2026 tonight (Wednesday April 15th).

The popular music competition returns to Strings Bar & Venue, where five finalists will take to the stage in front of a live audience and an expert judging panel.

The winner will secure a sought-after Main Stage slot at the Isle of Wight Festival.

This year’s finalists showcase a wide range of musical styles and influences, here we take a look at the quintet battling for glory this evening.

Jay Eatwell

Jay Eatwell is a multi-talented artist whose work spans singing, songwriting and rap, alongside strong musical ability on piano and guitar.

He first came to wider attention after reaching the piano finals on Channel 4’s The Piano in 2023, showcasing both technical skill and creative flair.

His music blends genres, combining elements of hip hop, acoustic songwriting and modern production.

Jay is also a producer in his own right, crafting his sound from the ground up and developing a distinctive musical identity that reflects both his influences and personal experiences.

He credits his time at Platform One with helping to shape his journey so far, opening up new opportunities and giving him the tools to progress as an independent artist.

Ruby

Ruby is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter known for her emotionally honest and relatable music.

Drawing inspiration directly from her personal life, her songwriting often reflects thoughts and experiences captured in her own diary.

Her style is rooted in strong lyrical storytelling, paired with catchy melodies that make her songs both heartfelt and accessible.

Audiences are often drawn into her performances, connecting with the authenticity of her writing while still enjoying the energy and rhythm of her music.

As an emerging artist, Ruby is steadily building a following thanks to her ability to translate real emotion into engaging songs.

Fugo Kid

Fugo Kid brings a spellbinding fusion of hip-hop and jazz influences, creating a sound that is both laid-back and introspective.

His music is shaped by personal experience, with lyrics that offer an honest reflection of his thoughts and surroundings.

Inspired by UK artists such as Loyle Carner and Kofi Stone, his work focuses on storytelling and atmosphere, often pairing thoughtful lyricism with carefully crafted instrumentals.

This combination gives his music a distinctive and recognisable tone.

His recent EP UFOs highlights his creative direction, showcasing his ability to blend genres while maintaining a strong sense of identity.

Georgia Nicole

Georgia Nicole is an alternative rock artist who has been gaining attention for her powerful voice and emotionally driven sound.

Her music combines high-energy instrumentation with deeply personal themes, resulting in impactful and memorable tracks.

Recent releases such as Game You Play and Too Alive have already received radio support and strong streaming numbers, helping to position her as one of the South Coast’s rising talents.

With a growing reputation and a confident stage presence, Georgia Nicole is continuing to build momentum.

Willowfly

Willowfly are a four-piece band formed in late 2024, bringing together a guitar-driven sound that blends atmospheric textures with raw intensity.

Their music often carries a moody, reflective quality, creating a strong sense of atmosphere.

Drawing comparisons to artists such as Fontaines D.C. and Wunderhorse, the band’s style leans into a darker, more introspective tone while still delivering powerful live performances.

As one of the newer acts on the local scene, Willowfly are quickly making an impression with their distinctive sound (and as for our Emerging Artists... watch this space!)

Wight Noize

Wight Noize has a strong track record of supporting emerging talent, with previous winners including The Optimists, Marnie Marie, Beth Brookfield and 5 Degrees North.

The final will be judged by a panel of industry professionals, including representatives from the Isle of Wight Festival, music distribution, artist development, recording studios and radio.

Organisers say the event not only offers a major performance opportunity, but also valuable exposure to key figures in the music industry.

The final takes place this evening, with doors opening at 6:30pm.
