Cowes Company Yokogawa Marex Searches For Former Employees

Cowes-based technology company Yokogawa Marex is looking for former employees as it prepares to celebrate its 60th anniversary.

The company, which traces its roots back to Marine Exploration being established in Cowes in 1966, is planning a diamond anniversary celebration in November.

It wants to reconnect with people who have worked for the company over the past six decades and invite them to the event.

Yokogawa Marex has evolved from its early work in offshore oil exploration and marine data collection into a global technology business specialising in process information software.

It became part of the Yokogawa group in 1997 and now employs more than 45 people on the Isle of Wight.

Divisional director Wayne Matthews said the company remains “very much grounded” on the Island and is keen to hear from former colleagues.

Anyone who previously worked for Marex, knows someone who did, or has memories of the company's history in Cowes is being asked to get in touch.
