Cherry Godfrey has strengthened its presence on the Isle of Wight after acquiring the client book of Ward House Mortgages and Life.

The deal means Cherry Godfrey will now take over responsibility for servicing Ward House’s existing clients, including mortgage advice, life insurance reviews and general insurance renewals.

Ward House Mortgages and Life is a well-established, family-run business that has supported Island residents with mortgage and protection advice for more than 35 years.

The move ensures continuity for clients, with services now being provided through Cherry Godfrey’s UK head office in Newport, while also giving access to a wider range of financial services.

Founder of Ward House, Michael J Ward, said he has taken the decision to step back from day-to-day broking.

He said:

“It was extremely important to me that my clients were looked after by a business that shares the same values, experience and strong community focus.
"Cherry Godfrey is a perfect fit, and I am confident clients will continue to receive the highest level of service.”

As part of the transition, Mr Ward will join Cherry Godfrey as a Non-Executive Director to help ensure a smooth handover.

Cherry Godfrey, which has been operating for more than 30 years, provides a range of services including mortgages, personal and business finance, as well as life and general insurance.

The company also operates in Southampton, Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man.

Chief Executive David Cherry said:

“We are delighted to welcome Ward House clients to Cherry Godfrey.
"This transition ensures they continue to receive trusted, experienced advice from a team that shares the same values and strong community focus.
“Our priority is to provide a seamless handover and long-term support, whether that’s reviewing mortgages, arranging protection or supporting broader financial needs.”

The company says its continued investment in the Isle of Wight highlights its commitment to supporting the local community and delivering trusted financial services to both residents and businesses.
