Car Overturns In Late-Night Crash Near Ryde

A car has overturned in a late-night crash on the outskirts of Ryde, prompting a road closure and a police response.

Officers were called to Carters Road, near Ashey, shortly before 10pm on Tuesday following reports that a car had left the road and rolled onto its roof.

The incident happened around a third of the way between Smallbrook Roundabout and Upton Roundabout, with the road currently closed while emergency services deal with the scene.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the collision.

Police are carrying out enquiries in the surrounding area.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has been approached for further information.
