Isle of Wight indie rock band Wet Leg have capped a landmark year with two nominations at the 2026 BRIT Awards, which take place on Saturday 28 February.

The band, formed by Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers on the Island, are up for Group of the Year, facing The Last Dinner Party, Pulp, Sleep Token, and Wolf Alice, as well as Best Alternative/Rock Act, alongside Blood Orange, Lola Young, Sam Fender, and Wolf Alice.

The nominations follow a huge 2025 for the band, which saw the release of their second studio album, moisturizer, in July.

The album, featuring singles like Catch These Fists and CPR, earned widespread critical acclaim and appeared on multiple ‘best of 2025’ lists.

Wet Leg also spent much of last year on tour, selling out venues across the UK, including a headline show at London’s Royal Albert Hall, with stops in Liverpool, Nottingham, Norwich, and Portsmouth, before completing a European run that included topping the bill at Glasgow’s O2 Academy.

Fellow members Josh Mobaraki, Ellis Durand, and Henry Holmes remain staples of the iconic band.

Looking ahead, Wet Leg are confirmed to return to their home Island in June 2026 as part of the Isle of Wight Festival line-up at Seaclose Park.

The duo will be hoping the BRIT Awards can build on their 2023 success, when they were crowned Group of the Year.

Isle of Wight Radio’s Dominic Kureen was the first nationally to review Wet Leg’s eponymous debut LP before its release in 2022 and conducted the band’s first official interview as Wet Leg during the 2021 Isle of Wight Festival.
