Vectis Corps Of Drums Wows Crowds At Welsh Carnival After Special Invitation

The Vectis Corps of Drums has represented the Isle of Wight at the Milford Haven Carnival in Wales after receiving a special invitation to perform at the popular annual event.

The marching band travelled across the country over the weekend, delighting carnival-goers with a varied programme of traditional marching music alongside well-known sing-along favourites.

Their lively performance prompted many spectators to join in, helping create a memorable atmosphere throughout the event.

The invitation came after organisers discovered the band through social media, with its growing online presence helping to showcase its distinctive performances to audiences across the UK.

Members of the band were given a warm welcome by the Milford Haven community during their visit.

The Milford Haven Sea and Royal Marine Cadets also supported the trip by providing overnight accommodation at their headquarters, helping the group with the logistics of travelling from the Island.

Before taking part in the carnival, band members visited a Welsh coal mine, where they learned about the history of the country's mining industry and its importance in shaping communities across Wales.

The educational visit gave younger members an opportunity to explore an important part of Welsh heritage.
