Residents, staff and guests at Vecta House in Newport have come together to celebrate cultural diversity at the care home's fifth annual Culture Party.

The event, held in partnership with the Isle of Wight's Indonesian community, has become a much-loved tradition since it was first introduced five years ago.

As part of the celebrations, members of staff prepared and shared traditional dishes from their home countries, creating an international feast for residents, families and visitors to enjoy.

The afternoon also featured colourful performances from members of the Indonesian community, who showcased traditional dances while wearing authentic cultural dress.

Residents embraced the occasion, with many joining the performers on the dance floor as the festivities got underway.

The annual event aims to promote inclusion and celebrate the diverse backgrounds of both staff and residents, using food, music and dance to bring people together.

Tanya Everson, Lifestyle Leader at Vecta House, said:

"This event is all about celebrating the beautiful cultures and diversity that make our Vecta House family so special.
"What better way to achieve that than through food and music?
"Our residents had an absolute blast joining in with the dancing, and we are so grateful to the Indonesian community and our wonderful staff for making our fifth year the best one yet."

Vecta House provides specialist nursing and dementia care in Newport and regularly hosts activities designed to connect residents with the wider Isle of Wight community.
