Two Men Arrested Following Ryde Esplanade Crash

Two men were arrested after a vehicle overturned on Ryde Esplanade on Saturday night.

Emergency services were called at 10.41pm after a red Mitsubishi L200 collided with a lamp post and a large planter before coming to rest on its side.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that a 31-year-old man from Cowes was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink.

A 54-year-old man from Ryde was also arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Both men were taken into custody following the incident.

Police enquiries remain ongoing.
