Serious Road Traffic Incident In Arreton Sees Road Closed In Both Directions

Emergency services have been called to reports of a serious road traffic incident involving two vehicles just outside of Arreton this afternoon (Wednesday).

The collision occurred shortly after 2pm at the pedestrian traffic lights in Horringford.

The road has been closed in both directions, and police are advising motorists that this will cause significant delays in the area.

Drivers are urged to avoid the location and seek alternative routes.

The closure is expected to remain in place for the foreseeable future while emergency services attend the scene.

A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed:

"We were called at 2.18pm with reports of a collision on the A3056 at Horringford involving two cars.

"A man is suspected to have sustained serious injuries as a result.

"The road has been closed at the Downend Road junction while emergency services deal with the incident, which remains ongoing."
