Ryde Teens Celebrated At Duke Of Edinburgh Awards Evening

Network Ryde has honoured 27 young people for completing their Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards at a special ceremony held on Thursday (27 November).


Families, friends and Ryde Town councillors packed into the youth centre to celebrate the achievements.


Network Ryde Manager Bex Swan and DofE Youth Worker John Grimes highlighted the wellbeing benefits of the programme, which this year saw participants complete skills, physical challenges and hours of volunteering across the community.


Bex said a highlight of the year was “camping at Kingston Smallholding and feeding the goats”, adding her congratulations to all of Network Ryde’s 2025 achievers.


Silver Award recipients: Daisy Lovell, Amelie Lale, Lewis Dollery, Poppy Holliday, Harmony France


Bronze Award recipients: James Burke, Tom Burke, Kole Bates, Jake Bates, Esme Moran, Amber Moran, Mia Moran, Samuel Robinson, John Pushparajah, Mason Dowling, George Bowerman, Melanie Henry, Rachel Savill, Charlie Farr, Janaya Avery, Eva Couzens, Mary Couzens, May McCathie, Alfie Saker, Seth Trevallion


Network Ryde is now preparing DofE groups for 2026 and will host two information afternoons for young people and their families:

  • Bronze Info Afternoon: Thursday 22 January, 3.30–5.30pm

  • Silver Info Afternoon: Thursday 29 January, 3.30–5.30pm


Young people must be in Year 9 (or Home Education equivalent) to start Bronze level.
