Three swimmers from Ryde Masters impressed at the 2025 South East Regional Masters (Long Course) competition at Crawley K2 Leisure Centre in January.

Competing against a strong field from across the South East, as well as entrants from Jersey, the Midlands, Suffolk and Devon, Jenny Ball and father-daughter duo Matthew and Imogen Sussmes represented Ryde Masters with distinction.

Jenny Ball continued her outstanding form, taking three gold medals in the 50m, 200m and 400m Freestyle, and adding a silver in the 50m Backstroke in the 85-89 age group.

Matthew Sussmes earned a third place in the 100m Freestyle and finished fourth in the 50m Freestyle (60-64 age group) after closely fought races.

Meanwhile, Imogen Sussmes, competing at this event for the first time, narrowly missed out on medals in the competitive 30-34 age group for the 50m and 100m Freestyle.

The Masters section of Ryde Masters continues to grow, with more swimmers joining and progressing to competitions.

The next event on the calendar is the Isle of Wight Masters at Medina Leisure Centre in February, where even more Ryde Masters swimmers are expected to compete.
