Ryde Man Charged With Multiple Sexual Offences Following Police Investigation

A man from Ryde has been charged with a series of sexual offences following an investigation into allegations involving two women on the Isle of Wight.

37-year-old Alexander Scott France, of Pondwell Close, Ryde, has been charged with eleven offences relating to incidents reported between 2015 and 2025.

The charges include:

• Three counts of rape — one in Cowes on 9 April 2015, and two in Ryde on 29 September 2025

• Two counts of sexual assault by penetration — alleged to have taken place in Cowes between January 2015 and December 2023

• Three counts of sexual assault by touching — two in Cowes between January 2015 and December 2023, and one in Ryde on 29 September 2025

• One count of voyeurism — alleged to have occurred in Cowes on 4 December 2025

• Two counts of assault by beating — both relating to an incident in Ryde on 29 September 2025

France appeared at Isle of Wight Crown Court on Saturday 6 December, where he was remanded in custody.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Monday 5 January 2025, also at Isle of Wight Crown Court.
