The RSPCA Isle of Wight has launched its annual Christmas fundraising campaign, Time to Give Back This Christmas, urging Islanders to help protect the region’s most vulnerable animals during what is the busiest — and most challenging — time of year.
As an independently funded branch, the centre relies almost entirely on local donations, with every penny raised on the Island staying on the Island.
It now costs around £750,000 a year to run the animal centre, covering food, shelter, veterinary treatment and rehabilitation.
The charity says animals like Bryony — a dog found abandoned in a caravan, left scared and neglected — highlight why support is so vital.
Now safe at the centre, she’s looking for the loving home she deserved from the start.
The campaign also features a lurcher puppy rescued in poor condition who is now thriving in her forever home.
This Christmas, the RSPCA is encouraging people to become Regular Givers, with a suggested donation of just £3 a month.
The charity says small, consistent support helps fund essentials such as food, warm bedding, vet care, behavioural support and safe shelter.
“£3 a month may seem small, but to an animal in need, it can be life-changing,” said Veronica Chrisp, Fundraising Manager at RSPCA Isle of Wight.
“Regular givers allow us to plan ahead, respond to emergencies, and ensure we’re always here for local animals who need us.”
How Islanders can help this Christmas:
Become a Regular Giver (£3 a month suggested)
Make a one-off donation
Fundraise locally
Donate food, toys or supplies
Share the campaign to raise awareness
Those wishing to support the appeal can find more information and sign up at the RSPCA Isle of Wight website.
