Red Funnel has suspended its vehicle ferry service until further notice following a police incident outside its Southampton terminal this morning (Friday).
Emergency services, including Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary, South Central Ambulance Service, and the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, were called to Town Quay shortly after 11:00am.
The exit from the terminal was blocked, meaning vehicles were initially unable to leave and sailings were disrupted.
Police have since confirmed the incident involved a collision between a lorry and a pedestrian.
A road closure is in place between Mayflower Roundabout and Town Quay while investigations continue.
The lorry involved is understood to belong to Medina Foodservice and had just disembarked from the 09:30 sailing from East Cowes when the collision happened.
Red Funnel later confirmed that limited operations have resumed, with services running for foot passengers, cars and small vans only. Red Jet services remain unaffected throughout.
A single casualty has been taken to Southampton General Hospital.
The road closure remains in place this afternoon while enquiries continue.
Red Funnel says further updates will be issued in due course.
