Police Hunt Suspect After Mobile Phone Robbery In Ryde

Police are searching for a suspect who fled on an e-scooter after allegedly assaulting a man and stealing a mobile phone in Ryde.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary said the incident happened between 7:40pm and 7:50pm on Thursday on Cothey Way, off Brading Road.
The victim had arranged to meet someone to sell a mobile phone, but the prospective buyer is reported to have assaulted him, grabbed the device and fled without paying.
The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens, wearing glasses and a black coat. He was last seen leaving the area on a Voi rental e-scooter.
Police confirmed no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
