Wightlink Donates £5,000 To Support Yarmouth Fireworks

Wightlink has donated £5,000 to help fund Yarmouth’s annual fireworks display and torchlight procession on Thursday 5 November.
The event has been a fixture in the town’s calendar for more than 50 years, attracting crowds from across the Isle of Wight and the mainland.
The evening begins with a torch-lit procession from Yarmouth town square at 6pm, travelling along the High Street to the Common, where a beacon will be lit before the fireworks display over the Solent.
Local businesses will also be taking part by creating Guy Fawkes figures for their shop windows and premises, with Wightlink providing prizes for the best displays.
Yarmouth Carnival Committee chair Jamie Allen said the donation would help volunteers stage the much-loved event, which brings the community together and provides a boost for local businesses at a quieter time of year.
Wightlink’s Partnerships Marketing Manager, Sam Woodman, said the company was proud to support an event that attracts visitors and celebrates Yarmouth’s community spirit.
The fireworks display is free to attend.
Wightlink is also offering 20 per cent off foot passenger, car and motorcycle ferry fares for travel to the Island between 4 and 6 November 2026.
Full details are available on the Wightlink website.
