Police Appeal For Witnesses After Woman Assaulted In Binstead

Police are appealing for information following an assault in Binstead on Saturday evening (6 December).


Between 7:30pm and 8:30pm, a woman in her 40s was reportedly attacked in the Jellicoe Road and Broadway Crescent area.


A 32-year-old man from Ryde has been arrested on suspicion of intentional strangulation and common assault.


He has been bailed with conditions until Friday 6 March 2026 while enquiries continue.


Officers are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.


Anyone in the area at the time is urged to call 101 and quote reference 44250550420.


Police are also keen to hear from anyone with CCTV, dashcam, mobile phone, or doorbell camera footage that could assist the investigation.
