Occupants Located After Fleeing When Car Overturns Near Ashey

The occupants of a car that overturned near Ashey on Tuesday night fled the scene before emergency services arrived, police have confirmed.
Emergency services were called to Carters Road, Ryde, at 9:38pm following reports of a single-vehicle collision.
A silver Honda Civic left the road, crashed into a hedge and overturned, coming to rest on its roof.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary said those inside the vehicle left the scene on foot before officers arrived. They were located a short time later on nearby Ashey Road.
Police say the driver will be interviewed at a later date. No arrests have been made.
