Shalfleet Councillor Calls For Answers Over Bouldnor Viewpoint Maintenance

Shalfleet parish councillor Jonathan Hill has asked the Isle of Wight Council why restoration work wasn't carried out at Bouldnor Viewpoint while contractors were working nearby on the King Charles III England Coast Path project.
Cllr Hill says he has raised concerns about the site since January and believes the recent work provided an opportunity to address longstanding maintenance issues.
The viewpoint, which overlooks the Solent, has become increasingly overgrown, with vegetation obscuring much of the view.
It is also promoted as a picnic area, but Cllr Hill says concerns remain about the condition of the site, including overflowing litter bins and ongoing maintenance.
He believes improvements would help restore the viewpoint's appeal to residents and visitors, particularly those travelling from Yarmouth.
Cllr Hill has written to Isle of Wight Council officers seeking an explanation for why the opportunity to carry out work at the site wasn't taken while contractors were in the area.
The council's response has not been included in the information provided.
