Nigel Farage is due to speak at a rally on the Isle of Wight today (Monday) as part of Reform UK's local election campaign.
The party leader is visiting the Island during a wider tour ahead of upcoming local elections.
The event will take place at GG’s Bar & Restaurant, on the outskirts of Newport, with doors opening at 17:30 ahead of a scheduled start time of 19:00.
Organisers say a park and ride operation will run from Robin Hill with shuttle buses transporting attendees to and from the venue.
Ahead of the visit, Farage said the campaign would focus on what the party describes as political change and policy priorities including border control and reducing public spending.
Meanwhile, activists linked to Greenpeace say they carried out an overnight protest across parts of the Island in response to the visit.
Bus shelter advertising panels were opened without permission so posters could be placed inside.
The posters contain critical messages about Reform UK, including slogans such as “Vote Reform, Get Trump” and “Out with the old, in with the old”, referencing former Conservative politicians who have joined the party.
Some of the original advertising remains visible beneath the posters.
There is no suggestion that the local businesses featured in those adverts were involved in, or support, the protest.
