Monkey Haven Mourns Loss Of Beloved Siamang Bog

Monkey Haven is mourning the loss of Siamang Bog, who passed away earlier at the weekend after a battle with cancer.

The gibbon, who celebrated his 23rd birthday in October, was well-known alongside fellow Siamang and uncle, Xhabu, who passed away earlier this year.

A spokesperson for Monkey Haven said:

"Bog loved his quiet moments, watching the world go by from his favourite spots, and sharing soft, trusting interactions with his keepers.

"The Haven won’t be the same without him, and our hearts feel very heavy as we say goodbye to this beautiful boy.

"As we mourn his loss, we find a little comfort in knowing that Bog is now reunited with Xhabu, his lifelong companion.

"Together again, side by side as they always were."

Bog’s gentle nature and loving interactions made him a cherished part of the Monkey Haven family and a favourite with visitors.
