Pilates teachers from across the Isle of Wight are coming together to host a series of workshops to mark this year’s World Pilates Day.
The event will take place at Quay Arts in Newport on 2nd May, featuring nine instructors, each bringing their own style to celebrate the work and legacy of Joseph and Clara Pilates.
Organiser Sarah Sandbach, who runs @theSTUDIO in Newport, says Pilates is more popular than ever and the event is a great way to bring the community together while marking 100 years since the first Pilates studio opened in New York.
She says the day is about helping people find the right class and teacher for them, with sessions including mat work, equipment-based classes, and specialist workshops focused on areas like running, menopause and posture.
There will also be a range of wellbeing practitioners on hand offering free advice and information throughout the day.
