Families on the Isle of Wight are being invited to a free community event taking place in Newport this weekend.

Home-Start Isle of Wight is teaming up with Utilita Energy to host a ‘Saturday Takeover’ at the Utilita Energy Hub on Saturday 4 April.

The event will offer a mix of practical support, advice and activities for local residents, with a focus on helping families and young children.

Visitors will be able to speak with Home-Start volunteers about the support available for parents and carers, as well as find out more about services across the Island.

There will also be interactive activities for children, alongside energy-saving advice from Utilita’s in-store experts, including tips on cutting household bills and improving efficiency. Free giveaways will be available throughout the day.

Dan Green, Supervisor at the Utilita Energy Hub, said:

“We’re excited to welcome Home-Start Isle of Wight to the Hub for this special Saturday Takeover.
"Their work with families across the island makes a real difference, and together we can offer practical support that helps households both emotionally and financially.”

A spokesperson for Home-Start Isle of Wight added:

“Partnering with Utilita gives us a brilliant opportunity to meet more local families, showcase the support we offer, and create a welcoming space where parents and children can connect with us and each other.”

The event is open to everyone, free to attend and no booking is required.

It runs from 10:00 to 15:00 at the Utilita Energy Hub on High Street in Newport.
