41-Strong Team Completes Tough Mudder In Memory Of Zoe
A team of 41 people has completed the 15km London South Tough Mudder, raising money for Mountbatten in memory of Zoe Panayi.
The challenge was organised by Red Squirrel Property Shop CEO Charlie Panayi, with the group tackling mud, water, climbing, crawling and a series of obstacles requiring them to work together.
The team travelled to the event on Sunday 20 September, with all 41 participants making it across the finish line despite having different ages, backgrounds and fitness levels.
The challenge was held in memory of Zoe Panayi, who died from melanoma in May 2020 aged just 26, leaving behind two young sons.
Zoe's Law was subsequently established in her memory and campaigns for greater awareness of melanoma, sunbed use and skin cancer prevention.
All money raised through the challenge will be donated to Mountbatten, which provides hospice and end-of-life care and support to people and families across the Isle of Wight.
Charlie Panayi, who is also a Mountbatten Trustee, said the most important part of the challenge was seeing the whole team support one another and make sure nobody was left behind.
He said the event was organised to bring people together to do something positive in Zoe's memory, while raising money for a charity which supports Island families.
Red Squirrel Property Shop says the Tough Mudder represents one of its largest group fundraising challenges to date.
The fundraising page remains open, with 100% of the money raised going to Mountbatten.
