Charity Tennis Tournament Raises £1,250 For Age UK Isle Of Wight

A charity tennis tournament on the Isle of Wight has raised £1,250 so far for Age UK Isle of Wight.

Twenty-four players took part in the East Wight Charity Tennis Tournament at Ryde Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Sunday 20 September.

Players in their 70s and 80s were among those taking part, with matches played across six courts.

The event was organised by Age UK Isle of Wight trustee John, with sponsorship from Seaview Deli owner George Bristow and Jenny from The Garlic Farm.

George also took part in the tournament, alongside Martin Bostock, Vice Chair of Trustees at Age UK Isle of Wight.

The day also included afternoon tea and a raffle to raise more money for the charity.

Age UK Isle of Wight says the money raised will help it continue supporting older people across the Island, including through companionship, practical help at home, information and signposting, and support for people living with dementia or returning home from hospital.

Donations are still being accepted through the Age UK Isle of Wight website.
