Man Due In Court Following Ryde E-Bike Collision Investigation

A man is due in court following an investigation into a collision between an E-bike and a pedestrian in Ryde.

This incident occurred on the evening of 5 January this year on Ryde High Street.

The pedestrian, a 16-year-old girl, sustained injuries but these were not serious. The E-bike did not remain at the scene.

Following a number of enquiries, 21-year-old Patrick Douglas, of Fishbourne Lane in Ryde, has been issued a summons to face the following charges:

• Dangerous driving

• Driving without a licence

• Driving without insurance

• Riding a motorcycle on a road and failing to wear protective head gear

• Failing to stop

He will appear in Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on 29 July.
