Man Arrested After Reported Assault In Apse Heath

A man has been arrested after police responded to reports of an assault involving a man and a woman in Apse Heath yesterday evening (Thursday).
Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were called to Winford Road at 6.36pm following reports of an altercation.
A significant police presence was seen at the Springvale Woodland Burial Ground car park, where officers focused their enquiries on a black Audi at the scene.
A 46-year-old man from Sandown was subsequently arrested on suspicion of common assault.
He remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
