Blue Car Leaves Road Near Culver Down

Emergency services were called after a car left the road near Culver Down this morning (Monday).

A blue Ford Galaxy was found on its side in the ditches alongside Sandown Road, between Sandown and Bembridge.

Police, ambulance crews and firefighters were sent to the scene at around 9am.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service mobilised crews from Ryde and Shanklin, alongside resources from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.

However, emergency services did not remain at the scene for long and no action was taken.

It is not currently known when the vehicle left the carriageway.

Sandown Road remains open to traffic.

Marshcombe Shute is still closed because of separate roadworks.
