Isle of Wight singer Ruby has taken on the country music genre for her latest single, Beck and Call Girl, which is available to stream now.
The song is about knowing your worth and knowing it’s time to put yourself first.
Describing the track as a ‘fun country pop single that makes you feel uplifted,’ Ruby said she has been told the track is an ‘earworm.’
You can listen to Beck and Call Girl here:
The concept came from a quote in the film Pretty Woman, where Julia Roberts’ character decides she won’t be at someone’s beck and call anymore.
Joining Ruby on the song, which was recorded on the Island and mastered at London’s legendary Abbey Road Studio, are Josh Palmer, Will Vincent and Izzy Leal.
Speaking about the new track, Ruby said:
“I’m so excited about this release!
“I have been waiting ages to show people this song and help others realise what they deserve and I can move on, they can too.”
Ruby’s newest single comes after an appearance at the Wight Noize final, where she competed to perform on the Isle of Wight Festival main stage.

Later this month, Ruby will play at Recfest in Portchester on a lineup with other upcoming musicians.
