As the 2025 Poppy Appeal gets underway, the Isle of Wight Festival of Remembrance returns this Friday (7 November) for an evening of music, reflection, and tribute to those who have served.

The event takes place at Christ the King College in Newport from 7.30pm, bringing together a host of Island talent including the Medina Marching Band, Isle of Wight Highland Pipes and Drums, singer Rosie Sales, the IW College Public Services group, the Island Free School Jazz Band, and cadets from Cowes, Ryde, and the Isle of Wight Air Cadets.

A moving Act of Remembrance will be at the heart of the evening, featuring a Drum Head Service led by the Royal British Legion’s County Chaplain, Rev. Whatley. Standard Bearers from across the Island’s Legion branches, along with representatives from local military and youth organisations, will also take part.

Now in its fifth year, the Festival has become a much-loved community event, uniting Islanders to honour the bravery and sacrifice of service personnel past and present.

All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, helping to support veterans and their families.

🎟️ Tickets are available now via TicketSource.

The event is organised by the Medina Marching Band.
