An Isle of Wight couple have been recognised on the national stage for their outstanding contribution to the community.
Vicky and Paul Butler, franchise owners of Right at Home (Isle of Wight), have won the Community Impact Award at the 2025 BFA HSBC UK British Franchise Awards — one of the most prestigious accolades in UK franchising.
The ceremony, held in Telford last week, celebrated the best of British franchising — and the judges were particularly impressed by the Butlers’ dedication to supporting their local community.
Over the past few years, the couple have launched and grown a number of local initiatives, including:
The Independent Living Show, which has expanded over three years from 25 stalls and 300 attendees to 45 stalls and more than 500 visitors.
The Dementia Afternoon Tea Club, offering a welcoming space with quizzes, crafts, and guest speakers for those living with dementia.
Community Christmas 2024, which brought 48 people together for a Christmas Day lunch thanks to local donations, volunteer support, and the generosity of a local pub landlord who opened his kitchen for the event.
Speaking after their win, Vicky Butler said:
“Paul and I are in complete shock about our win at the BFA HSBC UK British Franchise Awards!
"These awards are so highly thought of within the Right at Home network — it was a privilege to even be shortlisted, so to now find ourselves as BFA award winners is unbelievable.
"This recognition wouldn’t have been possible without our incredible team, who work so hard to provide the very highest standards of care for our clients and to support the wider community too.
"We’re very proud of them indeed.”
She added:
“We’re so fortunate to have such unwavering support from National Office.
"Our CEO, Lucy Campbell, has shown so much faith in us and has been truly inspiring.
"Everyone at National Office has supported us from day one and always goes above and beyond.”
Right at Home, founded in 2010 and franchised in 2011, provides premium quality homecare services that help people live independently and with dignity in their own homes.
The network now includes 70 franchise owners covering 85 territories across the UK, and last year the company also won ‘Franchisor of the Year – Established’ at the British Franchise Awards.
Pip Wilkins, CEO of the British Franchise Association, said:
“Huge congratulations to Vicky and Paul and their team at Right at Home (Isle of Wight).
"Businesses like theirs are leading the way in British franchising and are shining examples of successful, ethical business in the UK.
"We look forward to seeing them achieve even more in 2026.”
Gillian Morris, UK Head of Franchise at award sponsors HSBC UK, added:
“Franchising makes a major contribution to the UK economy, and these awards recognise the dynamism, commitment and hard work of amazing businesses like Right at Home (Isle of Wight).
"It was an inspirational evening and a fitting way to celebrate the innovation and passion that define the sector.”
The British Franchise Awards, often described as the “Oscars of franchising”, are hosted annually by the British Franchise Association (BFA), the UK’s self-regulatory body for franchising.
