Two Isle of Wight-based companies have showcased the Island’s excellence in the
construction sector, after being recognised with top accolades at the Federation of
Master Builders’ Awards.
Family- run and Cowes-based company Bagshots Limited was founded over 40 years
ago and specialises in high-end, bespoke kitchen and furniture design.
The team has previously been recognised with six consecutive Houzz Customer Service Awards, the Federation of Master Builders’ National Kitchen Award (2021), and Federation of
Master Builders’ Southern Counties Winner (2023).
Bagshots’ in-house manufacturing facility in Cowes combines state-of-the-art
technology with time-honoured techniques, producing kitchens and interiors that are
both timeless and meticulously engineered.
On Friday 18th July, the company was crowned Kitchen Project Winner at the Master Builder South Awards.
The company’s senior designer, Frank Deer, has dedicated his career to the craft,
bringing over 40 years of industry experience and a deep personal passion for
traditional carpentry and innovation.
Frank, who has called the Island home for much of his life, is known for his hands-on approach and commitment to mentoring the next generation of craftsmen.
Bagshots has been recognised for a stunning farmhouse-style kitchen designed around
family life, featuring a large island, solid oak and quartz worktops, and clever child-safe
touches such as bullnose edges and pocket doors.
Bagshots’ client Bella Mather said:
“Our kitchen is practical, beautiful, and a joy to cook in.
"The Bagshots team went above and beyond to deliver a space better than we imagined — we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.”
Meanwhile, Davis Knight Renovations Limited based in Newport claimed the Bathroom
Project Award for transforming two bathrooms in a coastal home.
The team used handmade tiles, specialist lime wash paint finishes, and bespoke detailing to create two distinct yet harmoniously connected spaces.
Davis Knight Renovations was founded out of a deep love for the Isle of Wight
community.
Both directors grew up in a small village on the south of the Island and, after pursuing separate careers, returned to establish a company devoted to creating beautiful work and a friendly, supportive working environment.
The Davis Knight team said:
“We see it as a privilege to work on buildings and with people that continue to form part of our heritage and future in a place we are so passionate about.”
Both regional winners will now compete for national titles at the Master Builder Awards
in Manchester this September.
The awards, judged by leading industry experts, celebrate not just exceptional builds but the dedication and craftsmanship of the building industry.
