Healthwatch Isle of Wight is urging residents to take part in a new survey on GP services, aimed at better understanding how people access and use their local practice.
The survey follows changes to the NHS GP contract introduced on 1 October 2025, which are beginning to influence how services are delivered.
Healthwatch says it wants to hear directly from patients about what is working well and where improvements are needed.
Access to GP services remains the most common issue raised with the organisation, making this survey an important opportunity to build a clearer picture of current challenges across the Island.
Open to anyone who has recently contacted or visited their GP, the survey will gather feedback on access, communication and overall experience of care.
Joanna Smith from Healthwatch Isle of Wight said:
“We know how important GP services are to people’s day-to-day health and wellbeing.
"This survey is an opportunity for residents to tell us honestly about their experiences – both positive and negative.
"Their feedback will play a vital role in helping shape future improvements to local services.”
The findings will be published in summer 2026 and shared with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care System to help support ongoing improvements.
The survey is available online, with responses open until Friday 12 June 2026.
