Sixth form students across the Isle of Wight are celebrating after achieving an impressive set of A-Level and BTEC results, with many securing places at top universities, prestigious apprenticeships, and exciting career opportunities.
Christ the King College

At Christ the King College, 70% of A-Level grades were at A*–C, matching last year’s strong performance, while BTEC students achieved a 100% pass rate, with 73% gaining Distinction or higher.
Standout successes included Physics, with 60% A*–A grades, and Mathematics at 57.1% A*–A. Every Health and Social Care student achieved Distinction*–Distinction.
Students are moving on to a wide range of destinations — 83% of university applicants secured a place at one of their chosen institutions, with 40% heading to Russell Group universities.
Others are pursuing apprenticeships, joining the Navy, or travelling overseas for opportunities such as Camp America. Head of Sixth Form, Hayley Conway-Hughes, praised students’ “determination, resilience, and dedication,” while Headteacher Andrew Montrose hailed their “remarkable personal development.”
Lift Ryde (FKA Ryde Academy)

Lift Ryde recorded its best-ever results, with record numbers of A* grades and students heading to Russell Group universities. High achievers included Astraea Mercer (A* in Maths,
As in Physics and Computer Science, University of Southampton), Catherine Propia (A* Biology, As in Psychology and Chemistry, Medicine at Kent & Medway Medical School), and Ella Voden (three As, Mathematics at University of Southampton).
The school noted this cohort were in Year 8 when the pandemic began, and praised their resilience through years of disruption.
Staff ran extra classes, opened during holidays, and offered additional guidance and counselling. Head of School Will Doyle said:
“Our students have achieved amazing results… we are very proud of you all.”
Cowes Enterprise College

Cowes Enterprise College students saw results secure places at world-leading institutions.

The Island VI Form

The Island VI Form celebrated strong results, with the vast majority of students securing places at their first-choice universities.
Others are heading into prestigious higher-level apprenticeships, job-specific training, and full-time employment.
Headteacher Kam Bains praised the “determination, resilience and talent” of students who overcame challenges caused by the pandemic, while Head of VI Form Phil Pearce-Jones said the results reflected not only academic success but students’ wider achievements, including volunteering, community events, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
From Cambridge to Camp America, and from Russell Group universities to the Royal Navy, Island students are now preparing for their next chapters — and schools across the Island are celebrating their success.
