Two Islanders will take on the world's most famous run later this year to raise funds for a charity close to their hearts.
Dan Ward and David Blackman are undertaking the 2025 London Marathon on Sunday April 27 in aid of the Lily Foundation on behalf of Team Teddy.
Team Teddy was formed in aid of Island boy Teddy Ward (Dan's son) who has a life-limiting mitochondrial disease, and an extremely rare defective gene (DNAJC19).
This defected gene causes something called dilated cardiomyopathy, which is the degeneration of Teddy's heart.
To the doctor's knowledge, Teddy is one of just 55 people in the world to carry this gene, and the only known case in the UK - there is unfortunately no cure at this time.
