Businesses and organisations from across the Isle of Wight have been recognised for their commitment to sustainability at the 2026 Green Impact Awards.
Hosted by the Isle of Wight Council and environmental charity SOS-UK at Calbourne Water Mill, the awards celebrated those taking practical steps to reduce their environmental impact while improving efficiency.
Participation in the Green Impact scheme has almost tripled over the past year, with 59 businesses registering and completing more than 2,000 sustainability actions.
In total, 27 awards were presented across Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum categories.
The free programme, which has been running on the Island since 2018, provides organisations with a toolkit of more than 190 actions ranging from simple energy-saving measures to developing long-term sustainability policies.
Both Isle of Wight MPs, Joe Robertson and Richard Quigley, attended the ceremony to present awards, while students from the Isle of Wight College carried out independent audits after receiving specialist sustainability training.
The Isle of Wight Council also received recognition, with its Bereavement Services team achieving a Gold award and County Hall receiving Platinum status.
Amelie-Rose Owen, the council's Green Impact programme manager, said participation in the scheme had grown significantly over the past year.
She said:
"Participation has tripled, clear evidence that momentum is building and businesses are eager to take meaningful action.
"The programme not only helps organisations reduce costs and improve efficiency, but also creates a network of like-minded businesses working together."
Councillor Julie Jones-Evans, Chair of the Economy, Regeneration, Transport and Infrastructure Committee, added:
"Green Impact is easy to access for businesses of any size and has been a fantastic success over the last eight years. Congratulations to all of this year's award winners."
Among those receiving the top Platinum awards were Visit Isle of Wight, Cowes Harbour Commission, Luccombe Hotels, Gurit (UK) Ltd, Camp Wight, PC Consultants, Nettlecombe Farm and Isle of Wight Council – County Hall.
The Green Impact scheme is now seeking sponsors to help fund the programme in 2027.

Wow, that's amazing! I truly admire the persistent efforts of the Isle of Wight Council and SOS-UK in promoting a green lifestyle. Seeing the number of participating businesses triple is so exciting! A round of applause for the 27 outstanding award winners – they are truly shining examples of environmental protection and business efficiency optimization, and deserve much praise. The students participating in the audit were also fantastic – truly talented young people.
