Hovertravel has announced extra late-night services for the Isle of Wight Festival weekend, giving festival-goers more options to return to the mainland on Sunday evening.
For the first time, the passenger ferry operator will run additional late crossings on Sunday 21 June, with three extra return services departing from Ryde at 10.45pm, 11.15pm and 11.45pm.
The extended timetable means those attending the festival can stay for the final acts and still catch the quickest route back to the mainland, with the hovercraft taking just ten minutes to cross the Solent to Southsea.
Loretta Lale, Head of Marketing at Hovertravel, said the move follows feedback from customers wanting later travel options after the festival.
She said the additional flights offer greater flexibility, convenience and peace of mind for people heading home after a busy weekend of live music.
The Isle of Wight Festival attracts thousands of visitors to the Island each year, and Hovertravel says the extra Sunday night services will help meet increased demand during the event.
Tickets for the late-night crossings are available to book online via the Hovertravel website, with passengers advised to book early as demand is expected to be high.
