Households subscribed to the Isle of Wight Council’s Green Garden Waste collection service can renew their subscriptions from today (Tuesday).

Existing customers are being given priority to renew ahead of the new service year, which runs from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027.

The renewal window closes on March 10, with the scheme opening to new subscribers from February 10.

The optional fortnightly service allows residents to have garden waste collected from the kerbside, including grass cuttings, leaves, hedge clippings and weeds.

Subscriptions cost £102 per year, with customers able to choose either a 240-litre wheeled bin or three reusable hessian sacks.

Residents who pay by direct debit will have their subscription renewed automatically, while those who pay annually by card have been emailed with instructions on how to renew.

Anyone wishing to cancel their direct debit must do so by 5pm on March 3.

Collected garden waste is composted locally on the Island and turned into soil conditioner.

The subscription also includes a free Christmas tree collection in January.

More information and renewal details are available on the Isle of Wight Council website.
