A brand-new family event is set to bring the village of Godshill to life on Saturday 31st May 2025 as the community comes together for PlayFest — a celebration of fun, inclusion, and the official belated opening of Godshill Play Park.
Originally opened quietly in November 2024, the park’s grand celebration was postponed due to unpredictable weather.
Now, PlayFest will finally mark the occasion with a day packed full of activities, performances, and community spirit — all taking place on Central Mead from 11am–4pm.
Godshill Play Park is already making waves as one of the most inclusive spaces on the Island, featuring the Isle of Wight’s first public wheelchair swing, alongside a wide range of equipment designed for all ages and abilities.
Families can enjoy:
● 2km Kids Fun Run (entries now open!)
● 🐶 Kids Dog Show (entries now open!)
● 🎯 IW Scouts Archery & 1st Godshill Scouts Fun Activities
● 🥋 Displays from IW Karate, Theatre Train, and YES! Creative Beats
● 🎶 Live lunchtime music from Corrine Atkins
● 🎨 Crafting, face painting, sand art, glitter tattoos
● 🍦 Coffee & cake, and ice cream too!
● 🦛 Egg and spoon, sack races and our amazing wheelchair hungry hippo
● ⭐ Win some great prizes in our Grand Raffle!
● 🎡 Bouncy castle, teddy tombola, The Play Fest Letter Quest and more.
Entry is free, with a small charge/donations for select activities. Bring a picnic, stay for the day and enjoy all the fun including of course our fab play park!
🚗 No parking on site – attendees are asked to car share, use public transport (it’s on a main bus route) or park responsibly.
