Vampires beware — the Garlic Farm has launched a certified organic range of three Asia-inspired sauces, all infused with Black Garlic.
The new varieties are:
Organic Tamari Soy Sauce with Black Garlic
Organic Hoisin Sauce with Black Garlic
Organic Teriyaki Sauce with Black Garlic
The family farm on the Isle of Wight has offered quality garlic from its own fields and those
of partner producers for over 50 years.
In 2023 the team achieved organic certification for all the farmland with the Soil Association.
This new collection builds on the shift to organic produce and is the first stage in the business’ commitment to transition all products in the range to organic.
On the farm’s commitment to transitioning its products to organic, Barnes Edwards,
Director, commented:
"We have seen the positive effect organic farming practices have on our garlic crop, livestock and surrounding fields.
"We’re committed to making the change across our supply chain as we learn more about the impact of nature friendly farming techniques."
The organic range is infused with Black Garlic, which is made by heat-ageing garlic over
several weeks.
The cloves soften and caramelise, gaining a distinctively sweet, umami flavour, with a taste likened to figs, liquorice, or molasses and an unctuous texture of sticky dates.
It’s packed with antioxidants and sought after for its ability to enhance a wide variety
of dishes.
The Garlic Farm’s new organic Asian range is detailed below:
TAMARI SOY SAUCE WITH BLACK GARLIC
Intense, rich, black garlic gives this smooth tamari soy sauce a unique, balanced flavour.
Perfect mixed into stir fries or used as a dipping sauce.
HOISIN SAUCE WITH BLACK GARLIC
A garlicky plum sauce with a sweet black garlic flavour. Delicious in stir fries, as an indulgent meat glaze or as a dipping sauce.
TERIYAKI SAUCE WITH BLACK GARLIC
A classic teriyaki sauce with a luxury black garlic twist, ideal for marinating chicken or
seafood.
Regarding the new products, Barnes said:
"This collection of store cupboard ingredients responds to the recent rise of Pan-Asian and Asian-Fusion food in restaurants and markets.
"We hope to help our retailers expand their organic offerings and give customers more choice, as well as peace of mind that our products are made with consideration for environmental impact."
