Firefighters Tackle Blaze At Commercial Garage In Newport

Firefighters from several Isle of Wight stations are tackling a fire at a commercial garage in Newport this evening (Monday).

Multiple fire appliances have been sent to the Riverway Industrial Estate, where thick black smoke has been seen billowing from an industrial unit.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus have forced open a roller shutter door to gain access to the building.

Firefighters are using hose reel jets to tackle the blaze.

There is currently no information on any injuries or the cause of the fire.
