Firefighters Deal With Car Blaze On Newport Industrial Estate

Fire crews have been called to a vehicle fire on Newport’s industrial estate this afternoon (Thursday).

One appliance from Newport was dispatched to Hurstake Road, just off Riverway, shortly after 4pm following reports of a car on fire.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are currently working to bring the situation under control, using a hose reel to extinguish the blaze.

The fire is believed to have started in the engine bay of a black Ford Focus.

The incident is taking place to the rear of Central Garage, near Best Garage.

No injuries have been reported.
