Newport and Ryde crews have extinguished a house fire on Alexandra Road in Cowes.
Firefighters were first called shortly after 8.30am this morning when smoke was reported to be issuing from an upstairs window.
Everyone had evacuated the affected property and those neighbouring it.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to stop the blaze, before clearing smoke using ventilation fans.
Crews remain on the scene dampening down.
